Some GOP figures were quick to slam the Muslim-American for her remark about the attack occurring during Ramadan.

“I don’t give a s— if it’s Ramadan. Why do you continue to simp for terrorists who need Americans and their allies lifeless,” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) replied to Omar.

Baghdad-born congressional candidate Dalia al-Aqidi, who is running as a Republican for Omar’s seat as Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District representative, attacked Omar for her statement.

“As a Muslim Iraqi-American, I can’t keep silent while my religion is turned into a propaganda software,” al-Aqidi wrote on X. “Claiming America ‘chooses Ramadan to assault Muslims’ isn’t advocacy, it’s a deliberate lie meant to inflame anger and divide Americans… So when this false narrative is pushed, it isn’t ignorance, it’s manipulation. America deserves honesty, not political theater.”
