A home where former Michigan State University football coach Mel Tucker’s once lived in East Lansing is for sale, according to a listing on East Lansing RE/MAX Real Estate Professionals.

The 12,534-square-foot home with eight bedrooms, eight full baths and eight fireplaces is on the market for $2.7 million, according to the listing.

“This Magnificent custom home exudes grand scale living!,” the RE/MAX listing says.

Listing agent Rochelle Ridgell did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the home.

Ingham County tax records show the home at 2471 Overglen Court, in the East Lansing school district, is owned by the Jo-Ellyn H. Tucker Trust.

In April 2024, Tucker’s wife Jo-Ellyn filed for divorce in Ingham County Circuit Court and, in a court filing, accused Mel Tucker of pulling money, including $1.5 million to pay his legal expenses, from their joint funds without notice. It’s unclear whether divorce proceedings are complete.

Here’s what to know about the home and Mel Tucker.

Where is Mel Tuckers home?

The home, located on a cul-de-sac at 2471 Overglen Court, is in East Lansing, east of Park Lake Road and north of Interstate 69.

How big is the home?

According to the RE/MAX listing, the 12,534-square-foot, brick-and-stone home home sits on 1.38 acres, and has eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms (eight full). It also has a four-car garage.

What amenities does the home include?

The “Luxurious Whitehills Woods estate” features a professionally landscaped lot, RE/MAX says.

“Offering over $750,000 in recent major improvements, exceptionally showcasing quality construction and masterful craftsmanship throughout,” the listing notes.

The listing says the home features a 37-by-19-foot great room with soaring floor-to-ceiling windows.

There is an indoors MSU basketball court and lounge, and an elevator to the 4,500-square-foot walk-out lower level designed for “entertainment bliss!”

The two-story home features a 27-by-28-foot kitchen with built-in gas oven and range. It also has radiant floor heating and air conditioning, a hot tub, sauna and security system, according to tax records.

Did Mel Tucker build the home?

No. The home was built in 2003. Tucker was hired at MSU in 2020.

When was Mel Tucker coach at Michigan State?

Tucker was named Michigan State University’s 25th head football coach on Feb. 12, 2020, the MSU football website says.

A USA TODAY story published in the early hours of Sept. 10, 2023, following MSU’s 45-14 win over Richmond, was the first public report to reveal that Tucker had been under investigation by the university for nearly a year. The story also included an interview with Brenda Tracy, who filed a inappropriate harassment complaint that set off the investigation.

MSU Athletic Director Alan Haller suspended Tucker without pay on the day the story published, and fired him for cause on Sept. 27.

According to Sports Reference, Tucker compiled a 20-14 record at MSU. The team was 2-0 in 2023 when he was fired. He was 5-7 in 2019 with Colorado.

Has the Tucker situation been resolved?

Tracy, a prominent national advocate for inappropriate assault victims, filed a lawsuit in June 2025 and claimed, among other issues, that members of the school’s Board of Trustees leaked her name during what was supposed to be a confidential inappropriate harassment investigation of Tucker.

That investigation later determined that Tucker violated the school’s inappropriate harassment policy and exploited Tracy when he masturbated and made inappropriate comments without her consent during an April 2022 phone call.

Tucker has denied any wrongdoing and said he and Tracy had a consensual relationship. However, Tracy reported the incident to MSU months later and the university fired him in September 2023.

Tucker has since sued the university over his firing and the roughly the $80 million in guaranteed salary that remained on his contract.

None of the litigation has been resolved.
