Legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne‘s posthumous Lifetime Achievement The Brit Awards proved contentious for viewers who weren’t impressed by the efficiency. The star died in July 2025 at the age of 76 and his Sharon and daughter Kelly accepted the award on his behalf, paying an emotional and closely censored tribute to the Birmingham-born star. The second marked the end of the show, and following this, Ozzy’s band, including his longtime guitarist, Zakk Wylde, took to the stage with Metallica’s bass participant, Rob Trujillo, to carry out his 1991 monitor No More Tears. Chart-topping pop star Robbie Williams was on vocal duties for the music, and fans weren’t amused.

Taking to X, one fumed: “Who the profanity decided that Robbie Williams was a suitable tribute to Ozzy? I turned it straight off.” A second lamented: “We need a singer to do an Ozzy Osbourne tribute….let’s ignore all the proper incredible rock/metal singers and get Robbie Williams on it…. FFS!”

A 3rd chimed in: “Robbie Williams frontlining an Ozzy Osbourne tribute is the equivalent of Paul McCartney frontlining a K-Pop tribute.”

A fourth opined: “I love Robbie, but he’s definitely not who I would choose to sing Ozzy with his band & Metallica. A pop voice just doesn’t work. This #BRITs is weird!”

A fifth shared: “Ozzy is currently turning in his grave at a tribute for him being led by Robbie Williams.”

Meanwhile, a sixth referenced another artist they might have quite carried out the music writing: “No disrespect to Robbie, but I wish Yungvisible injury was doing the Ozzy tribute.”

In another sudden second during the tribute nation music icon Dolly Parton paid paid tribute to the star in a pre-recorded clip. “What an incredible life to celebrate. Ozzy Osborne dedicated his entire life to music, and his legacy has left a permanent imprint on the fabric of music lovers everywhere,” she said.

“Talk about stealing the show – Ozzy knew how to get your attention. With his love of theatrics, his musical gifts, he could turn any occasion into a full-blown show.”

Meanwhile, Sharon and Kelly have been visibly emotional as they stood on the stage with Ozzy’s award. “I’m honoured to accept this award from my gorgeous husband, this lifetime achievement award, God knows. I wish he were here to accept it himself,” Sharon said poignantly.

“…I know that Ozzy is looking down on us all right now…My old man was blessed with a one-in-a-million career. He’s he was at the top of his game for 56 years. I could go on about achievements…but that’s all boring, and the thing is that Ozzy was authentic. He was gifted, totally unpredictable, a wild man. He was a true artist,” she smiled.
