The Department of Justice has declared its intention to sever ties with the American Bar Association (ABA), thereby limiting the affiliation’s means to charge tenure within the federal judiciary. This transfer is anticipated to impede the ABA’s capability to successfully vet nominations submitted by U.S. President Donald Trump.

In a letter addressed to the ABA’s president, William Bray, Pam Bondi said, “For several decades, the American Bar Association has received special treatment and enjoyed special access to judicial nominees.”

She went on to say, “In some administrations, the ABA received notice of nominees before a nomination was announced to the public.

Some administrations would even decide whether to nominate an individual based on a rating assigned by the ABA. Bondi asserted, “Unfortunately, the ABA no longer capabilities as a truthful arbiter of nominees’ {qualifications},” studies the Irish Star.

Bondi argued that the ABA’s “scores invariably and demonstrably favor nominees put forth by Democratic administrations.”

“The American Bar Association has lost its way, and we do not believe it serves as a fair arbiter of judicial nominees,” she penned. “@TheJusticeDept will no longer grant the ABA the access they’ve taken for granted.

Predictably, the letter did not sit well with other users. Many of them expressed their disapproval of Bondi’s actions.
