Bay County officials are moving forward with discussions on the proposed 5.1-mile Philip Griffitts Sr. Parkway, a Panama City Beach project aimed at improving traffic flow and safety in the growing region.
The suggested road runs just north, and parallel with, Highway 98 and connects Publix Sports Park on the Beach’s east end with the Breakfast Point neighborhood, Arnold High School and Clara Avenue to the west.
The proposed project will coast about $110.8 million with design and permitting to begin in 2027.

A public meeting is scheduled for Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 9101 Panama City Beach Parkway, Panama City Beach. Residents are encouraged to attend, share their thoughts, and learn how the proposed route could affect local neighborhoods, businesses and the environment.
