Dolly Parton lovers are demanding Nashville International Airport be renamed after the nation music queen following her death — with a year-old petition gaining hundreds of signatures in mere hours as the likes of Sheryl Crow threw their weight behind it.
The Change.org petition — “Rename Nashville International Airport to Dolly Parton International Airport” — blasted past 100,000 signatures Wednesday, gaining more than 50,000 in the day since the Tennessee native died at 80 on Tuesday.

“On August 25, the world lost an angel,” an update to the petition read. “It’s difficult to imagine a world without our Dreamer-In-Chief. How are we going to be okay without her magic to keep us safe? How can we shine without her light?”
“Since her passing, tens of thousands of additional supporters have visited and signed this petition,” it added. “The outpouring of support has reinvigorated our mission.”
