The Albuquerque Journal obtained Albuquerque Police Department body cam footage from Jon Jones‘ alleged crash scene that he been accused of leaving.
On June 17, Jones was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor charge (no great bodily hurt or death). The incident allegedly occurred on Feb. 24. Jones has denied the allegations and maintains that he wasn’t in the vehicle in query.
In the video, officers responded to a car crash. A lady was in the vehicle and responded to questions. She handed her cellphone to an officer and stated that the individual on the opposite finish of the road was Jon Jones. “He was the one driving the vehicle,” she informed the officer. “That’s Jon Joes”
The man on the cellphone, allegedly Jones, could possibly be heard slurring his phrases and allegedly made threats. “He’s making threats,” the officer stated before calling for backup. The individual on the cellphone may be heard saying, “My brothers: They kill people for way less.”
