Poverty Has No Party – RedState

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Scott Turner is making strides to divest unlawful aliens from receiving authorities housing help. Turner is also pushing for President Donald Trump’s 2026 proposed finances which seeks, among other goals, to place a two-year time restrict on Section 8 housing, hearkening back to former President Bill Clinton’s “Welfare to Work” reform to transfer people out of a place of dependency into a place of sustainability.

Not only did Turner “turn the tables” on the reporter, but he schooled him on the truth of government-assisted applications like Section 8, and what the aim behind time limits is.

Turner responded, “No, there’s no concern at all. Government subsidies were never meant to be a lifestyle. Have you ever met somebody who lived in government housing? Personally?” 

The reporter equivocated, indicating he in all probability had not. Turner continued confidently:

I’ve. I’ve met lots of of people around the nation. Government subsidies had been never meant to be a hammock, they’re meant to be a trampoline. We’re always going to have people in our nation who need help. And we perceive that from the center of HUD, we perceive that we’ll have these people.

We’re going to have ability training around you,’ to get out of authorities subsidies, to live a life of self-sustainability. 

This isn’t Democrat, it isn’t Republican, poverty has no occasion. You perceive?

Poverty’s not purple, it isn’t blue, it isn’t Black, it isn’t white, it impacts everybody, not directly or straight.
