Powerpuff Girls live-action footage leaked after | TV Shows

The Powerpuff Girls remake may have gotten canceled but fans can still indulge in the leaked trailer on Youtube.

The 1998 hit cartoon was so close to getting a new series when The CW announced they had ordered and shot a live-action pilot in 2021. Fans’ anticipation brewed for quite some time before it was announced that the series was cancelled before it was even released.

The new show stars Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup. While they won’t appear together anywhere on the streaming platform, many can still see the reimagined iconic trio through leaked footage.

Clips from the cancelled series have spiraled through social media. During the trailer, younger versions of the Powerpuff Girls are first seen before they rise to fame. It also shows a glimpse into their life as young adults. Blossom is “constantly stressed,” Bubbles is “constantly drinking” and Buttercup is “constantly rebellious.”

In one clip, the iconic brunette says: “I’m not wearing that dress anymore, it’s gender normative and ass ugly.”

“It looks like a Funny or Die parody,” another added, referencing Will Ferrell’s comedy production company.

A third chimed: “I’m gonna just pretend this is AI and the real trailer is still buried somewhere because this is just awful.”

It is still unsure how the clips were leaked. The CW suspects it was a third party that was working on a trailer that ended up getting rejected.
