The new mother made a swift recovery and was soon discharged from the hospital. This news follows a report about two dad and mom who had been shocked to be taught their child daughter may completely lose her sight due to a uncommon disease.

The Mirror also shared the story of Petru and Natalia Obada from Banbury, Oxfordshire, who are raising funds to take their second baby Sophia to Spain for a specialist operation upon which her sight relies upon.

Sophia’s father, Petru, 31, shared: “When Sophia was born, we had no reason to expect anything unusual… About a week after her birth we noticed something was wrong because Sophia wasn’t opening her eyes properly. Her eyelids looked much smaller compared to other babies.”

He additional mentioned their journey to diagnosis, stating: “So the doctor confirmed there was a problem, but she admitted she had never seen anything like this before.”

Sophia was identified with Blepharophimosis Ptosis Epicanthus Inversus Syndrome (BPES) Type 1, a condition that prevents her eyelids from totally opening and restricts her imaginative and prescient.

The household’s GoFundMe web page has already garnered £8,000 for journey, lodging, and medical bills.
