Prep discuss: City Section commissioner knows how to | College News
Vicky Lagos, the City Section commissioner, was watching last week’s King/Drew-Crenshaw soccer recreation on the sideline when she observed issues with the chain crew.
She proceeded to change into half of it, holding the down marker and serving to educate the inexperienced college students.
It was another instance of her versatility and capacity to improvise and intervene when needed.
She grew to become the City Section’s seventh commissioner in 2019 after being an assistant commissioner.
It’s a job that requires the flexibility to settle for criticism, keep your cool and discover options regularly on a daily foundation.
Taking over on a chain crew to help isn’t on any commissioner’s to-do checklist.
“It was a teachable moment,” Lagos said.
