Price Is Right player and golf pro slammed for | TV Shows
A recent Price Is Right contestant shocked viewers and long-time host Drew Carey for his extreme stroke of luck as he won a massive prize.
Player Travis Britt, an assistant pro at Brentwood Country Club in Los Angeles, was fortunate enough to play Hole in One for a Hyundai Venue.
“I had no idea we were playing Hole in One by the way,” Carey said as he let the audience know what Travis did for a living.
“If you miss this putt, hang your head, bro,” Carey said. “Do not show your face in public.”
However, Travis first had to succeed pricing products in ascending order, which he did well enough to earn a short putt.
A third pointed out: “They had a lady who coaches golf win on this game a while back…”
However, another fan of the game show argued: “When a show has been on for 50+ years with 6 onstage contestants per episode, awesome coincidences like this happen, and are a helluva lot of fun.”
Meanwhile, more recently, acontestant broke a game and blamed Carey for it during a blunder.
On the March 24 episode, Yanira, from Hawaii, guessed the closest retail price of a pair of 128 GB smartphones and proceeded to play Switcharoo.
A car and four small prizes are shown to the player, but all of the prices are displayed with one digit missing.
The contestant has 30 seconds to enter the correct digits in the prices. After the first attempt, the contestant is told how many prices are correct and is given the option of a redo.
The player wins any prizes that are priced correctly.
Yanira had to find the prices for a refillable and reusable fire extinguisher, a heavy-duty water-resistant lock box, a dry-erase board easel and marker, and a three-tiered water fountain, along with the car.
With 30 seconds on the clock, she had to put all of the prices in the correct spots on time but stressed about it and asked her friends in the audience for help.
As Carey encouraged her, she touched the block in the fire extinguisher, and it fell out. “I broke it,” she said.
“No, you didn’t. Oh yeah, you did,” Carey said, putting it back in its place, but as he touched the lip where the number lay, it fell out and onto the floor.
“You broke it more!” Yanira said to the host as she picked up the number block. Carey laughed, along with the audience, and then set it on top of the other number below it.
“We’ll pretend that’s where it goes,” he said.
