Labour’s Lisa Nandy was inundated with criticism following her latest look on BBC‘s Question Time. The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport was accused of dodging questions when host Fiona Bruce requested the MP about Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham’s reported bid to turn out to be the next prime minister. During Thursday’s (September 25) episode, Fiona requested the politician: “You have said of Andy Burnham, ‘whatever he decides I’ll support him’, does that include him standing for the leadership?”

The politician responded: “What Andy Burnham decides to do with his career is entirely up to him. I work very closely with him; he’s my mayor. I’m really proud that by working with him and with Keir [Starmer] in the Labour government, we’ve been able to deliver so much more in the last year that I’ve been in Parliament, than in the 14 years I was in Parliament since.” However, as Nandy continued to reward Burnham, viewers grew irritated that she wouldn’t give a direct response to the query. Taking to X, one fumed: “She dodged the question twice, a typical politician blowing her own trumpet, praising her party & criticising other political parties.” As a second viewer wrote: “BBC ! Wow I haven’t heard so much rubbish in as long as I’ve been alive! I feel ashamed to have you as our main media. Sort it out!”
