Republicans Just Love Committing Political Suicide

Republicans are proving they’ve the political instincts of a tree stump and all the savvy maneuvering of a lemming in a tracksuit. More particularly, I’m referring to the Georgia GOP.

Republican legislative leaders in the Peach State despatched a letter just hours before Wednesday’s particular session started, flatly rejecting Governor Brian Kemp’s (R) push to redraw congressional and state legislative maps for 2028.

By extension, they’re also thumbing their nostril at President Trump, who has rightly calculated that Democrats would weaponize the redistricting device as a means to gain energy, and urged his occasion to get forward of it.

House Speaker Jon Burns, in a letter to Kemp, cited the need for “more time” and public enter before participating in the method.
