Rory McIlroy’s warning about the challenges of being a taking part in captain at the Ryder Cup seems to be going unheeded.

Keegan Bradley, Team USA’s captain, is reportedly set to title himself among his picks for this 12 months’s event. Bradley is due to face the media on Wednesday where he’ll reveal his six captain’s picks for the Ryder Cup.

Several sources have advised that he intends to embody himself as a taking part in captain. Sitting eleventh in the Ryder Cup standings and coming off a PGA Tour victory, Bradley faces a difficult predicament.

The buildup to the competitors has been turbulent, with Bradley now confronting the robust alternative of whether or not to decide himself. If the studies show true, it appears he did not heed McIlroy’s counsel.

Last week, McIlroy, a seasoned Ryder Cup competitor, warned against the idea of serving as a taking part in captain, according to the Irish Mirror. He revealed to reporters that he had been approached about doubtlessly fulfilling such a position, presumably at Adare Manor, Ireland, in 2027.

“I’ve been asked to do that and I’ve turned it down,” he said last week. “The idea of me being a playing captain sometime soon has come up and I’ve shot it down straight away because I don’t think you can do it.

“If you’d have said it 20 years in the past I’d say it was most likely doable to do, but how big of a spectacle it’s and all the pieces that’s on the road in a Ryder Cup now, I just suppose it could be a very troublesome place to be in.

“There’s a lot of things that people don’t see that the captain does the week of the Ryder Cup, especially now that the Ryder Cup has become so big.

“The captain’s only going to have the option to play one session on Friday, one session on Saturday. Would you moderately not have a participant that has the pliability to go twice if he is taking part in effectively?”

McIlroy’s ex-representative, Andrew ‘Chubby’ Chandler, has also criticized Team USA for selecting Bradley as their Ryder Cup leader this year. He thinks the Americans made a significant mistake if Bradley ends up competing for the squad personally.

“It all appeared a bit hasty when they picked Keegan Bradley,” Chandler told Betway. “They did not suppose Tiger Woods was going to say no, so they all of a sudden picked a man that is approach too younger to be Ryder Cup captain.

“He’s most likely 10 years too younger and definitely did not take into account him taking part in, and he clearly in his head never ever thought he would not play.
