Scottie Scheffler slammed his driver on the tee in a second of frustration during his failed attempt at back-to-back trophies at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on Sunday.
Wyndham Clark secured victory at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, before he and Amanda Balionis shared an awkward second during the post-round interview. Scheffler wasn’t far off the tempo after capturing the event a 12 months in the past close to his hometown of Dallas.

Outside of that, he was holing everything yesterday. Sometimes you’ve just got to tip your cap and say good playing, and 60 was going to be pretty tough to beat today.
“Overall, I’m proud of this week for myself, but I want I may have gotten a few more pictures out of it. Overall, Wyndham performed great golf.” Scheffler finished in third place at TPC Craig Ranch.
“It was a good week,” said Scheffler. “Like I said, it is always enjoyable to play in my hometown. The crowd assist was great this week. Like I said, it was a lot of enjoyable.
“I wish I would have made a few more birdies, but overall it was a lot of fun.”
