Cory Booker (D-NJ) gave what Dems and their mainstream media allies have described as a “marathon speech” Monday evening going into Tuesday evening, along with his colleagues sometimes becoming a member of him on the Senate flooring to help keep him going.

Early Tuesday night, Booker discovered from embattled Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) that he had “just broken the record” for the longest speech given in the Senate, one thing Booker admitted after the truth that he had been making an attempt to do:

I used to be very conscious of Strom Thurmond’s file. Since I’ve gotten to the Senate, I all the time felt that it was a unusual shadow cling over this establishment, that the longest speech.
