Scott Pelley Embarrasses Himself in Wild New NYT

While those of us on the sane end of the political spectrum are still chuckling over the schadenfreudalicious defenestration of Scott Pelley from CBS News, Mr. Pelley reveals no indicators of going quietly into that good night time. Instead, he engaged in an interview with The New York Times to rage, rage, against the dying of his profession, and now we’re at Schadenfreude Factor Eight.

Jobless news veteran Scott Pelley broke down in tears as he claimed the hysterical tirade that bought him fired from “60 Minutes” was a response to the “murders” of his “family” in a “Black Thursday massacre” at the show.

Pelley, 68, broke down a number of occasions during an interview with the New York Times as he mentioned for the first time being axed from CBS News after practically 4 many years at the community.

He conceded that he had been hyperbolic to accuse new community boss Bari Weiss of murdering “60 Minutes” — just to go even additional, claiming it was the employees themselves that she murdered.

I’ll be guffawing the remainder of the day over the “jobless” half of that, because, boy, howdy, did he ever have it coming. In case Mr. Pelley has forgotten, he was fired for trigger: Among other issues, what sure appears like insubordination to his new boss, Bari Weiss. Pelly sobs:

“It’s like your spouse being murdered,” he said at one level of the rejigging of employees with newcomers in to take charge at the show.

“No one saw the Black Thursday massacre coming,” Pelley told the paper of the community shedding senior employees, including government producer Tanya Simon.

Everyone who noticed Bari Weiss taking over CBS News noticed this coming, Scott. As America’s Songwriter once penned, you do not have to be a weatherman to know which manner the wind blows.

That wind blew Scott Pelley and many of the other lefties posing as news readers at CBS proper into the unemployment line. Too unhealthy. So unhappy.

Look, the legacy media has always been biased. Even back in the Reagan years, they big three networks opposed the Gipper at every flip, and then there have been few options; there have been the big national newspapers, just like the Wall Street Journal and, yes, The New York Times, and there have been the Big Three networks. So there was little foundation for comparability. But now? Not only are there a wealth of cable and streaming news companies, ranging from left to proper across the political spectrum, but also various news sources on the web – you are studying one of those proper now. And it is dragging the legacy media kicking and screaming back to at least a little nearer to the middle. 

That’s what Bari Weiss’s hiring was all about. And that’s what Scott Pelley’s firing was all about. Too unhealthy, Scott. But at least now you might have a lot of free time to do… whatever, like sobbing to the remaining leftist news networks.
