World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler was unable to conceal his disappointment as his remarkable streak of 21 straight rounds in the 60s got here to an abrupt end just weeks before the 2025 Ryder Cup.

Scheffler was pressured to settle for a spherical in the 70s for the first time since June as ten members of the US Ryder Cup squad took to the fairways in Round 1 of the Procore Championship. Keegan Bradley, the US captain for the Ryder Cup, has obtained high reward from teammate Scottie Scheffler. “I think it can’t be stated enough how good of a job Keegan’s done for us so far and the energy that he’s brought has been great,” Scheffler commented. “He’s very organized, he’s doing a really good job keeping the guys fired up.”

Scheffler also emphasised the importance of the Procore Championship in the Ryder Cup 12 months, describing it as a warm-up before the big event.

“Everybody’s excited to be here,” Scheffler said. “This is something we looked at the calendar very early in the season about how we were going to get ready for the Ryder Cup and this has been circled there for a long time. We’re excited to be here, excited to get ready.”

Bradley reciprocated the admiration for Scheffler. “To be honest with you, the more I’m around Scottie, the more I’m impressed with who he is,” Bradley expressed.

“We all know what a generational talent player Scottie is, but when you see Scottie around our guys, around the rookies, the willingness of him to do literally whatever it takes for us to win the Ryder Cup.”
