Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland weighed in on the incident in a sequence of social media posts and justified the agent’s actions.
“About time these entitled protesters are being shot. It should have happened sooner,” Strickland wrote on X. “Every single country has immigration law. Every single country enforces immigration law. You wanna go out there and stop lawful enforcement?! You should get shot..”
“Are you liberals really that fucking stupid,” Strickland wrote in a follow-up tweet.
“She was illegally obstructing law enforcement. They had cause to detain her. She fled the police and in the process hit an agent with her car. Intent does not matter. The fact is she used a deadly weapon to flee a lawful detainmeant.
“I’d not of shot her but I can not blame somebody in that scenario for doing it..”
Strickland, 34, gained the UFC 185-pound championship at UFC 293 in September 2023. He was defeated in his first title protection. “Tarzan” last fought in February of last 12 months. He returns to the octagon at UFC Fight Night 267 on Feb. 21 in Houston, Texas against No. 4 ranked Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez.
