Senator John Fetterman accused of melting in Jon | TV Shows

Senator John Fetterman appeared uncomfortable during his interview with The Daily Show comedian Jon Stewart.

On August 5, Stewart, 63, launched a practically four-minute video from his podcast interview with Fetterman, 56. During the Weekly Show podcast, the democratic senator from Pennsylvania appeared uneasy in his chair when he was grilled about Israel, which joined the United States in launching joint airstrikes at Iran on February 28. Stewart then requested a hardball query about Democratic socialists who don’t assist Israel.

In a second of awkward silence, Fetterman visibly fidgeted in his seat as he struggled to come up with an eloquent reply. This got here after the comic mocked President Donald Trump for his lack of consideration span.

While discussing Democratic socialists, Stewart requested him, “So for you, you could agree with them 90 percent, but Israel is the red line.”

Fetterman moved his eyes around, nodded his head in settlement, and said, “Absolutely. Israel for me. I can’t ever turn my back on Israel after where it’s at.”

Stewart then identified, “I don’t mean no disrespect on this. But that is not our country.”

Fetterman sat in awkward silence as he nodded and said nothing in response.

Stewart said, “These candidates may have great ideas for our country, our economy. They may want to do the exact same thing you want to do, in terms of getting money out of politics. They may want to increase the safety social net. But if they don’t agree with you on Israel, you don’t want them in your Party.”

Fetterman appeared stumped as he said, “I don’t know who you’re referencing specifically?”

Stewart clarified, “I’m referencing what you just said!”

Fetterman stuttered as he struggled with a comeback.

As the hard-pressed interview wound down, Stewart said, “Again! I think you’re caricaturizing the issue, but…”

Fetterman shook his head, interrupted, and yelled, “No!” as he appeared angrily at the podcast host.

Viewers took to social media to slam Fetterman’s efficiency, arguing that he fell short of high expectations.

One individual said, “Fetterman completely melts here.”

Another individual added, “He’s completely useless. Can’t defend himself. He is 100 percent a stooge.”

A 3rd wrote, “There should be an IQ test for Congress members. This guy’s brain is not functioning normally!”

Despite the criticism, Fetterman did have a supporter who shared, “Fetterman is going out of his way to support Israel. Let him speak his mind instead of crushing him.”

Division escalated within the Democrat celebration at the House on the same day. Fetterman warned his colleagues to stand behind Israel, or else he would take into account leaving the celebration.

“If our party ever becomes — and just makes it official — the anti-Israel party, that’s when I would leave, because that’s been a moral clarity for me,” he warned.

He added that he “can’t understand why the Democratic Party” would oppose Israel, as he claimed that the nation held related ideas about democracy in the Middle East.

“My long-term concern has been with the Democratic Party, as I am a member of that, is that our party is going to back away and turn their back to Israel,” he said.
