Shirley Ballas shares true reaction to new Strictly | UK News

Head choose of Strictly Come Dancing Shirley Ballas has shared her true emotions about the new internet hosting line up. On Tuesday May 19, the BBC announced Josh Widdicombe, Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe could be taking the reins of the long working Saturday night time flagship show following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman at the end of the last sequence.

In an exclusive chat with Express.co.uk, the next morning, Shirley, 65, could not disguise her delight at the news, which has been the subject of hypothesis for months. “I think it’s absolutely b****y marvellous,” she said, grinning broadly. “I think we’re going to see a reshuffle. We’re going to see some extra things in the show that we haven’t had before. We’ve got five new professionals coming on board. We’ve got Emma and Johannes, and you know everybody loves Johannes, and Josh Widdecombe, who’s funny, and of course Emma,” she said.

“I did Cooking with the Stars with Emma, who hosted it, and she’s an absolute delight and a master of her trade. Some people just can’t imagine the dynamic [between the three], but I can, because I think outside the box,” she said.

“I feel the BBC, they’ve taken their time, they’ve done lots of chemistry tests. I wasn’t able to do them – I got asked to do them, but I couldn’t do it,” she confessed. “Colleagues of mine did it,”

“I think this is going to be absolutely sensational!” she exclaimed.

The new presenters mark the first time in the show’s two-decade historical past that it has had a trio fronting it. Revealing the news BBC‘s chief content officer Kate Phillips said in a assertion: “Emma, Johannes and Josh’s chemistry is undeniable. There’s been so much speculation and hype, so I’m relieved we can share the news with the public at last! I’d like to thank all the brilliant people we saw before making this tough decision.

“But the most beloved ballroom in the UK always leads the best way, and in a Strictly first, we’ve got chosen three excellent hosts to take up the mantel. Along with our superb Strictly staff, who are busy planning fabulous and unforgettable treats for this new sequence, I do know this terrific trio can’t wait to be part of our judges and professionals to convey us must-see TV on the BBC this autumn.”

Shirley was speaking in her role as spokesperson for the One Step Ahead campaign from Abbot, whose Libre technology helps people living with diabetes see their glucose numbers in real-time to help them make progress on their health goals after research found only 18% of UK adults say they feel completely up to speed with health tech, and 23% admit they are not using it to its full potential.

“I went down my own health path yesterday, and I’ve missed my breast biopsy outcomes, my histopathology outcomes, and my back backbone outcomes before I realised I may go inside my health app and keep observe. I feel that’s what was important to be with Abbott’s, was that I may go from a personal expertise and help people not be frightened of technology.

“I live with my almost 89-year-old mum, who is in remission from cancer and COPD. Now she can get her prescriptions on an app, and she thinks she rules the world because she’s starting to learn how to do these different things on her phone,” she laughed.

Abbott is a global healthcare chief that helps people live more absolutely at all phases of life. Information on their work and merchandise is obtainable right here.
