Sky’s Prisoner star on being handcuffed to co-star for | UK News

The Sky drama collection is a must-watch for adrenaline junkies.

One of the main stars of Sky’s eagerly anticipated motion thriller Prisoner has spoken candidly about the calls for of working on the six-part collection, studies the Mirror.

French actor Tahar Rahim revealed how he and co-star Izuka Hoyle spent 4 months handcuffed together throughout the filming course of.

Reflecting on the difficulties of taking pictures while bodily hooked up to his co-star, The Serpent actor explained: “Being handcuffed to someone for four months filming could easily be a nightmare, but Izuka is a beautiful soul.

“We received on extremely effectively and turned real mates. She’s my associate in crime. It was a pleasure.”

The duo portray high-value prisoner and mafia informant Tibor Stone (Rahim) and prison transport officer Amber Todd (Hoyle) respectively.

When their prison convoy comes under attack from the very organised crime group that Stone is set to testify against, Todd makes the snap decision to handcuff herself to him, determined to ensure he reaches court for the trial within four days.

Yet Tibor is far from an ordinary informant — he is a trained assassin, capable of neutralising many of those dispatched to silence him before he can take the stand.

This demanded that both Rahim and Hoyle carry out stunt sequences together while their characters remained handcuffed to one another.

Addressing these demanding sequences, the Golden Globe and BAFTA nominee explained: “Being handcuffed during big stunt sequences made issues more complicated.

“Our stunt team was brilliant and inventive, open to ideas and incredibly collaborative.

“Izuka and I had to consistently adapt and choreograph every motion together.

“Izuka has great instincts and she’s strong, which made everything easier. I decided to just flow with her and to treat it like a dance.

“For me, performing with a associate is a type of dance: you hear, you’re feeling, you reply.”

Meanwhile, Big Boys and Scottish BAFTA winner Hoyle explained: “Having them on made us realise just how close we had been going to be to each other for such a long period of time, and that took some getting used to.

“Tahar is incredible. He’s physically fit, so in terms of us pushing each other, it was great.

“Our aggressive streaks would come out… ‘We can go sooner than that. We can do better than that. We can push tougher than that.’ And we did. Everyone around us could be like, ‘profanity*g hell’.”

Prisoner can be launched on Sky as a boxset on Thursday, April 30
