SNL faces scheduling conflict with Dodgers and | TV Shows

Saturday evening turned into a scheduling headache for two major TV occasions, Saturday Night Live and the World Series.

While Miles Teller was delivering his monologue live from Studio 8H, the Dodgers and Blue Jays had been locked in a tense, late-inning battle in Game 7 of the World Series.

As SNL rolled out its common combine of sketches, including one for a faux drug called “Painquil.” Fans shortly took to X to remark on the scheduling issue.

“Is there really a product called Painquil, or is SNL running fake ads during the World Series?” one person requested on X.

Another person posted, “This World Series is giving Stefon from SNL. It has everything.”

“I got the World Series on my phone while I watch SNL,” one viewer wrote.

“Snl tweeting just to look at my tl and see both jays and dodgers fans screaming,” another added.

All this occurred almost 50 years to the day since Saturday Night Live first aired, on the same day as Game 1 of the 1975 World Series.
