During a press convention with Karoline Leavitt on Thursday morning, Stephen Miller claimed that egg prices are down by 80%, a far cry from actuality.
Miller, Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Department of Homeland Security advisor at the White House, joined White House Press Secretary Leavitt to focus on the first 100 days of U.S. President Donald Trump‘s presidency.
Miller appeared very agitated when he spoke to the reporters, lashing out at them for their reporting on the Trump administration, before saying, “Egg prices, of course, which was all you guys talked about for a few days, I believe are down like 80%?”
He echoed President Trump, who lately blamed predecessor Joe Biden for the elevated egg prices during an unique interview with ABC News’ Terry Moran.

The average wholesale price of a dozen eggs was $6.55 when Trump took office in January, while the same dozen is running for $3.25, according to Trading Economics analysis of USDA data. That is nearly a 50% decline in prices.
Since he took office, wholesale egg prices dropped, but consumer egg prices have gone up.
According to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data, the average retail price of a dozen eggs has risen from $4.95 in January to $6.22 in March, which is nearly a 25% increase.
An immigration hardliner, Miller served as a policy advisor and speechwriter during Trump’s first term.
Trump promised the American people he would remove 20 million undocumented immigrants from the U. S. during his campaign trail, and his team affirmed the decision immediately after his inauguration.
“For those passionate about securing our immigration system… the first 100 days of the Trump administration will be pure bliss — followed by another four years of the most hard-hitting action conceivable,” Miller had told Axios last year.

During Trump’s campaign trail, Miller also promised in interviews to revoke visas for people “whose views, attitudes, and beliefs make them ineligible to stay in the country”, including “the Hamas supporters who are rallying across the country.”
Last month, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the State Department was revoking visas held by visitors who were acting counter to national interests, including some who protested Israel’s conflict in Gaza and those who face prison fees.
The Associated Press carried out a review of college statements and court data and discovered that at least 1,024 college students at 160 faculties, universities, and college systems have had their visas revoked or their legal standing terminated since late March.
However, many college students don’t fall under the stipulations set forth by Rubio and Miller and have filed lawsuits.
