The fourth season of Stranger Things launched us to the villainous Vecna/Henry Creel, who was behind all the terrifying occasions in Hawkins. However, fans are speculating that an even higher evil is lurking in the shadows.

The first episode of the fifth and remaining season of the favored Netflix collection premiered on November 27, with our favourite Hawkins crew once again attempting to save the world. After their defeat at the arms of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) in the earlier season, they’re beginning from a drawback.

Be warned: spoilers for season 5 lie forward. In season 5, we study more about the depths of Vecna’s malevolence. He has been plotting his return to the real world since the first season, masterminded Will Byers’ (Noah Schnapp) disappearance, held Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) captive in his recollections, and has now begun abducting kids, including Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher), from Hawkins.

However, fans are now theorizing that another villain often is the true risk. In season 5, Max encounters a cave within Vecna’s thoughts that he’s too frightened to enter, stories the Mirror.

Fans imagine that the Mind Flayer from season three is inside. “Guys mind flayer is the real enemy, much bigger than Vecna,” one fan wrote online. The Mind Flayer was a big fleshy, spider-like monster in season three, who possessed Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery) so that he may kidnap Hawkins residents, and later tore him aside in entrance of his stepsister Max.

Some imagine it was truly Vecna possessing Billy and controlling the Mind Flayer, but the fan added: “Vecna was legit scared when he approached that cave. The only question is why was he able to control the mind flayer or assemble it like a spider? Or was the spider he made and coined as the term “thoughts flayer” deviating us from the real one? ? ! ! ! This is wild.”

Another added: “[Vecna is] he basically just works as an agent of the mind flayer, it’s right hand man to do as it pleases.”

A 3rd recommended it could possibly be a “power struggle”. “Two powerful figures in different ways who depend on one another for what they have planned. The Mind Flayer really took a back seat in season 4 so Im hoping they bring him back into the main picture this season. It’s possible that both want to be the one in control, and there might be some kind of power struggle going on.”

Another observer highlighted that in Dungeons and Dragons, the tabletop position-taking part in recreation the children use to identify their antagonists, Vecna serves as a normal in the Mind Flayer’s military, as Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) explains.

The fan noticed: “Those DandD descriptions tend to be accurate and help the audience quickly understand a creature/monster’s role in the show.

“We know the Mind Flayer existed before Henry reached the upside down, and it looks as if it was reaching out to him as a baby. This signifies the Mind Flayer is just not just some dumb animal that Henry formed to match his designs. The Mind Flayer knew Henry appreciated spiders, so in the real world, it drew him to spiders in the home. When Henry arrived in the upside down, the MF took the form of a spider to “connect” with him. They have a symbiotic relationship, it appears.”

One viewer concurred that Vecna might be the Mind Flayer’s “normal” but suggested he was actually an instrument for season two’s antagonist, the Shadow Monster, which appeared as a smoky manifestation of the Mind Flayer and took control of Will.

“Personally, I believe the shadow monster is the final word evil of the show,” they stated. “The parasite invading our world utilizing Vecna as its face, a device to have bodily type.”
