Strictly star says Im not here to win as they join | UK News

The Strictly Come Dancing build-up is properly and really under method as the forged for this 12 months’s forthcoming sequence has begun to be revealed. Thus far, the BBC has confirmed that viewers can look ahead to seeing the likes of Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton and Cach Mercer stepping onto the dance flooring.

Meanwhile, the latest movie star added to the roster is 41-year-old Will Best, widely recognised for presenting ITV’s revival of Big Brother alongside AJ Odudu. Speaking about becoming a member of the show, he might barely comprise his enthusiasm, though admitted he has little thought how he’ll fare in the competitors.

He said: “I can’t quite believe it… I’m doing Strictly! What an absolute dream. Albeit a pretty terrifying one. I’ve been lucky to do lots of live telly before, but absolutely nothing like this.

“And I can’t wait! I’ve no thought if I can truly dance, but carry on the sequins, carry on the quicksteps, carry on the dance flooring! I’m going to attempt to get pleasure from every minute of it.”

Yet Strictly is not the only BBC programme audiences can expect to catch the radio presenter on, as he was also confirmed to appear in the much-loved game show Picture Slam, fronted by Alan Carr, reports Wales Online.

The programme first aired back in 2023, though this marks the first occasion that celebrity guests have taken part, with the BBC confirming that fans can anticipate two celebrity guest specials, alongside a celebrity Christmas special, later this year.

Will is appearing on the gameshow alongside Fleur East, the former host of Strictly’s It Takes Two. When quizzed on how it feels to be participating in the much-loved BBC game show, Will admitted he has no intention of winning.

He told the BBC: “Really excited, it is a great show, and I do watch it. It blows my thoughts how good the contestants are. But I’m here to have enjoyable. I’m not here to attempt and win, I’m here to have a good time. I’m doing it with my mate Fleur East, which is great. So, we could have a snicker.”

Further movie star particular appearances embrace former BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern alongside Gareth Malone, and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell paired with Ellie Taylor.

BBC viewers will also see Richie Anderson compete with Jason Mohammad, Lee Latchford-Evans with Kéllé Bryan and Charlie Brooks with Sue Cleaver.

Alan Carr’s Picture Slam is returning to BBC iPlayer and BBC One for sequence 4 on Saturday, July 18
