Republican Rep. Troy Nehls (TX-11) just shared news on his future in the U.S. House of Representatives, asserting he’ll retire once the current Congress ends.

The Lone Star state lawmaker, who assumed workplace in 2021, took to his X account, addressing the assertion to supporters and constituents on Saturday afternoon:

…I’ve made the choice, after conversations with my stunning bride and my ladies over the Thanksgiving vacation, to focus on my household and return home after this Congress.

Before making this determination, I called President Trump personally to let him know of my plans. President Trump has always been a strong ally for our district and a true buddy, and I needed him to hear it from me first.

Serving this nation in the navy, serving our neighborhood in law enforcement, and serving this district in Congress has been the glory of my life. Thank you for your trust, your friendship, and your prayers.
