The View fans are fuming as show fails to air new | TV Shows

Fans of The View were left outraged on Monday, April 21 when the network failed to air a new episode of the show, despite being a go-to daily talkshow for millions of fans.

Shortly after the episode kicked off, the show’s loyal fans began realizing that they had seen the episode before, quickly getting frustrated having to watch a rerun.

As the Hot Topics session went underway, fans began posting their reactions on social media.

One fan posted: “#TheView still on reruns,” alongside several emojis and a GIF of Oprah Winfrey rolling her eyes.

“still re-runs. Makes me wonder if the rumors I see are a little more than that. Y’all better speak up,” another said, suggesting the crew may be staying away for a different reason.

The confusion comes just after head moderator Whoopi Goldberg revealed some of her reasonings as to why viewers might want to see the popular talkshow get removed from air.

Visiting California governor Gavin Newsom‘s podcast, Goldberg said: “People believe that they know everything I think and believe. They don’t,” she said. “But one of the ways that you learn what people believe is to hear them talk.”

“One of the things that people would love to see is, people are always saying, ‘You should take The View off television.’ You know why? Because we give you an opportunity. We don’t tell you what to think.”

Goldberg explained: “We say, ‘This is what I think!’ Alyssa will say, ‘This is what I think.’ Joy will say, ‘This is what I think.’ And when we do that, that is how you have the dialogue. It’s not personal, you know?”

“Sometimes somebody will say, ‘That shirt looks a little tight on you, Whoopi,’ but that’s not a bad thing! But it becomes an awful thing when people become personal about you or your family,” she concluded. “See, that’s the difference. We don’t do that here. Other people do it to us, and would like to think that’s what we’re doing to them. But we’re not.”
