The View says fire must be getting hot as Prince | TV Shows

The View co-hosts have weighed in on the release of Virginia Giuffre’s new posthumous guide and speculated whether or not it was the explanation why Prince Andrew immediately dropped his royal titles last week.

On Friday, Oct. 17, Buckingham Palace announced that the 65-year-old brother of King Charles III, who was accused of inappropriate assault by Giuffre before her death by suicide earlier this yr, will no longer use his title or honors, including Duke of York (he also resigned from the Order of the Garter, the UK’s oldest order of chivalry).

In her posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, which hit shops on Oct. 21, Giuffre wrote that Epstein allegedly trafficked her and that she was pressured to have intercourse with Andrew on three events when she was 17. Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

During the Friday, Oct. 24, episode of the hit ABC discuss show, co-host Joy Behar opened up the dialogue by asking her fellow panelists, “Do you think this book will finally compel Republicans to release the damn files?”

Ana Navarro identified that it has been over a month since Adelita Grijalva was elected to Congress in Arizona but she has yet to be sworn in.

Navarro admitted that she’s among a group of people who imagine that the delay is because Grijalva “would be the last vote needed to approve the discharge petition in the House demanding the release of the Epstein files.”

She passionately said, “It’s time, it was time a month ago to swear in Grijalva.” She added, “Do it now.”

Sara Haines jumped into the dialog to carry up the latest developments with Prince Andrew.

She said, “All of these accusations floating around Epstein and Prince Andrew, I find that the fire must be getting hot because people are doing things.

“Like Prince Andrew just relinquished his royal titles and his honors proper before the guide got here out realizing possibly not what’s in the guide, but what might be in the guide.”

Haines added, “That was a big step contemplating it has haunted the Royal Family for a long time. And I commend the publishers for releasing the guide because the Royal Family is a very highly effective establishment and they’ll do what they need and the fact that there was enough in there that this occurred.”

The co-host then pointed out, “But I also know there are other victims that are talking out, hoping that they’d release these information.

“So, I would say that the more President Trump says, ‘I don’t know who that is,’ and the Republicans turn on whether they’re going to release them or not, they’re absolutely doing the opposite of what they’re trying to do.

“They’re not killing the subject. They are making it all the more attention-grabbing, and at some level, we are going to study the names that have been complicit in hiding these pedophiles.”

In 2022, Prince Andrew and Guiffre reached an out-of-court settlement in Guiffre’s inappropriate assault lawsuit. It included a statement in which he expressed regret for his relationship with Epstein, but contained no admission of liability or apology, according to the BBC.

“Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in help of victims’ rights,” per a court document filed at the time.

“Prince Andrew has never meant to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established sufferer of abuse and as a consequence of unfair public assaults.”

The former royal is reportedly prepared to leave the UK to avoid further embarrassment and disgrace in the Epstein scandal, his biographer, Nigel Cawthorne, claims.

Cawthorne stated, “He is aware of he is not needed right here. Even his own household no longer desires to be seen with him. I believe the only alternative he has left is self-imposed exile.”

“His one option left is to discover a pleasant nation where he can live out the remainder of his days in comparative peace and security. He’s finally reached the very end of the highway right here at home,” he added.
