The View’s desk of co-hosts is set to look a little different, as Joy Behar plans to take an extended hiatus from the daytime speak show.

Behar, 83, has long been one of the panelists on the ABC show, and is thought for her off-the-cuff comedic remarks and sharp tongue as she co-hosts alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Ana Navaro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Now, shortly after she sparked concern for her health, she has announced that she is stepping away from the desk for a short time, and the show is already lining up her substitute co-hosts.

Behar announced her deliberate extended hiatus while showing on the Tuesday, May 26 episode of the show’s Behind the Table companion podcast.

Speaking with producer Brian Teta, she shared that she could be stepping away for a journey to Europe, where she is bringing her stage play, My First Ex-Husband, following its New York City run.

“I fly to Paris this week, and then I go take the tunnel to London after a week, and I’ll be in London a second week doing my play, My First Ex-Husband, at the Boulevard Theatre in the West End,” Behar said. “We have Jackie Hoffman and I [playing] the two American women talking, then we have two British actresses. Doesn’t that sound like fun?”

Teta then shared the identities of some of those who would fill in for Behar, who often its out Mondays on the show.

“We’ve already told people that Sheryl Underwood is coming for two days,” Teta said of the previous The Talk cohost. “Next week we’re going to have Kara Swisher, who’s very funny, very smart, she’ll be great.”

In addition, Ana Navarro, the co-host who often only seems on Mondays and Fridays, will also fill in a few days, as nicely as moderator Whoopi Goldberg, who sometimes has Fridays off.

“I don’t think she knows yet, but I’ll let her know that she’s going to be here,” Teta joked of Goldberg coming in on her ordinary time without work.

This will mark Behar’s second extended absence, after she missed six consecutive episodes earlier in the yr after injuring her foot.

Her fellow cohost, Alyssa Farah Griffin, also stepped away for roughly two months this yr, after welcoming her first little one in February,

Among the hosts who stuffed in during Griffin’s absence have been Underwood, as nicely as former cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Savannah Chrisley.

Behar serves as one of the more liberal voices on the panel, which often discusses political points and topics.

While she and Hostin serve in those roles, with Goldberg also offering a more liberal viewpoint, Haines serves as an unbiased voice and Griffin serves as a conservative one. Navarro also serves as a Republican voice on the panel, though she is basically recognized for her vocal opposition to Donald Trump as nicely.
