The Voice fans discovered the Season 28 finale to be underwhelming.

On Wednesday, December 17, the hit singing competitors hosted the ultimate evening of its twenty eighth season. During the two-hour vacation spectacular finale, audiences have been handled to vacation skits and performances by top-charting singers, past and current contestants and the 4 beloved coaches Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, Niall Horan and Snoop Dogg.

Despite the festive songs and comical bits, fans weren’t impressed by the program. In fact, a few had even taken to social media in the center of the section to specific their frustrations about the “exhausting” particular.

On X, one said, “I think I’ll just sit here by the fire with the tv on mute until the winner is announced.”

“What a boring finale , these are not finale songs … now i remember why ratings are low regardless of the judges star power,” another added.

A 3rd begged, “Please make the finale 30 minutes next season @NBCTheVoice as the skits are exhausting and annoying.

This season’s coaches are all fairly newer to The Voice. Snoop Dogg and Michael signed on during the show’s 26th season. Niall made his debut as a coach in the spring of 2023, just a year before Reba was brought on.

Blake Shelton is the show’s longest-reigning judge with 23 seasons under his belt. He left after Season 24, giving his spot over to Reba. That year, she joined Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Niall in the iconic red chairs.

Next season, veterans Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and John will be returning for the show’s first-ever three coach lineup.

When the show returns, it will follow a new revamped name and format. The Voice: Battle of Champions will several changes including the return of many alums.

The Voice: Battle of Champions premieres on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
