The Four Seasons Resort is nestled on Ko Samui, Thailand’s second largest island, renowned for its tranquil palm-lined beaches, coconut groves and mountainous rainforest.
The island also boasts a 12-meter-tall golden Big Buddha statue at Wat Phra Yai Temple, situated on a small island linked to Ko Samui by a causeway.
Additionally, the island houses the pioneering Samui Elephant Sanctuary in Bophut, where visitors can interact with several elephants.
The sanctuary leads the way in ethical elephant tourism, ensuring the well-being of these majestic creatures.
Guests can feed the elephants, walk with them, and watch their playful antics in the sanctuary’s specially designed pool. Tourists can also explore Pig Island Koh Samui, known for its friendly pigs and stunning beaches.
The pigs, accustomed to human interaction, approach holidaymakers for food and attention. With its white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and serene ambiance, Pig Island makes for an ideal day trip.
Originally introduced by local fishermen as a tourist attraction, the pigs have flourished over the years, adding to the island’s allure. The area also offers excellent snorkeling opportunities, thanks to Pig Island’s clear waters, coral reefs, and diverse marine life.
The Four Seasons Resort served as the primary filming location for the hit series, with additional scenes shot in Phuket and Bangkok, sparking a surge in interest in these locales.
Michael Simpson, business development manager at CARMA, remarked: “The White Lotus effect is real; the program has evolved beyond a TV show into a global tourism phenomenon, significantly impacting luxury travel, media and hospitality brands.
“Featured resorts have been transformed into pop-culture travel destinations, particularly Four Seasons properties, which have capitalized on the trend. It serves as a fascinating case study on how entertainment can shape real-world economic and brand dynamics.”
Echoing this sentiment, Dipshaa Patel from Kenwood Travel noted: “We’re seeing TV reshape the way people book holidays. Shows like The White Lotus and Yellowstone aren’t just entertainment, they’re sparking real-world travel trends.
“British and American holidaymakers are no longer just watching these stunning locations; they want to experience them firsthand. It’s an exciting shift, and we love making those travel dreams a reality.”
