It never hurts to earn reward from one of your sport’s best gamers, and on Sunday, Scottie Scheffler obtained some much-deserved recognition from a golf great.
Tiger Woods shouted out Scottie Scheffler on Sunday after Scheffler captured his second Tour Championship and FedEx Cup at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
“Three wins, five runner-ups and finishing the season No. 1. Those are some numbers to be proud of. Incredible consistency all season long. Congrats on a historic season, Scottie,” Woods wrote on X on Sunday.

The victory was Scheffler’s third win of the season and is his second in the past three weeks after he received the St. Jude Championship earlier this month.
Scheffler wrapped up the 2026 season tied for complete wins with Chris Gotterup, Matt Fitzpatrick and Wyndham Clark.
“I think that’s something I’m very proud of. I think when you look over the course of the season, and especially some of the tough starts — shooting over-par to start a tournament on the PGA Tour is never a good spot to be in,” Scheffler said about his season. “I’m very proud of combating back and having some good finishes and even giving myself some possibilities to win with some of those poor begins.
“Overall just continued to battle, such as you said, day in and day trip. It’s one thing that I’m very proud of. It’s a reward to be out right here on tour. Each and every day I’m going to strive to give it my best.
“This was a week which just brought a lot of good energy to the course and just tried to do my best.”

Not only is the win another feather in Scheffler’s cap, but it now places him atop the PGA Tour’s all-time money checklist with profession earnings of $130,390,661, surpassing Woods, who had sat atop that checklist since Feb. 13, 2000.
Woods has $120,999,166 in profession complete earnings.

The victory on Sunday gave Scheffler another $10 million in the bank, and he has earned $14.1 million over the past three weeks.
Scheffler’s earnings are more than $11 million forward of Rory McIlroy among energetic gamers on the PGA Tour.
