A longtime conservative talk radio host has abruptly vanished from the Fresno airwaves after a decade behind the mic.
Trevor Carey is out as the afternoon drive-time host at Power Talk, where he spent 10 years holding down the three p.m. to 6 p.m. slot, he confirmed to the Fresno Bee.
Carey said he was among a number of staff caught in a nationwide layoffs Wednesday by mother or father company iHeartMedia.

Radio Insight, which first reported the broader cuts, described the layoffs at the company’s largest workforce discount since 2020.
Carey’s closing show aired Tuesday on 96.7 FM and 1400 AM, ending a run in which he blended local and national politics from a conservative perspective.
The station had already scrubbed Carey’s web page from its web site by Wednesday.
“It was almost like going to a living funeral,” Carey said of his closing day. “It is good to have hugs and hear how people really feel about you.”
Carey joined Power Talk in 2016, changing Christopher Gabriel, who now works as a morning news anchor at Fresno’s KMJ radio. Before his decade in Fresno, Carey beforehand hosted radio in Modesto.
He also not too long ago printed an autobiography about his broadcasting profession and his battle to overcome habit.
By Wednesday, Power Talk had crammed Carey’s previous afternoon slot with the syndicated Houston-based program “The Jesse Kelly Show,” the Bee reported.
