Trump appears to fall asleep during live briefing | TV Shows
President Donald Trump appeared to go to sleep once more during the televised National Guard briefing held in Memphis on Monday (March 23).
Sitting next to US Attorney General Pam Bondi, the commander-in-chief appeared to battle drowsiness throughout a law enforcement roundtable targeted on city crime.
His fatigue was evident even as Ms Bondi recommended his dedication to combating legal exercise.
Speaking to reporters, the Attorney General said, “Our US attorney, Mike Donovan, was out there, and everyone needs to know we met with this President multiple times.”
However, when she glanced toward the US chief, his eyes have been fully closed. Continuing undeterred, Ms Bondi added: “About this endeavour,” inflicting Trump to angle his head toward her while maintaining his eyes shut.
His eyes reopened when she famous, “The president knew what was going on here, the president cared.”
Yet as Trump’s eyes closed once more, observers flooded social media with criticism, with one writing: “Embarrassing. They perform loyalty speeches for him, and he can’t even stay awake long enough to hear them … and that’s the real danger.”
Another particular person questioned: “If he can’t stay awake, how is he supposed to stay in charge?”
One commenter labeled the political get together, “the most embarrassing administration in history.
“How embarrassing, I’m so ashamed that he’s the president of America! He’s carried out nothing but trigger chaos since he is been in workplace,” a fourth observer commented. One irate viewer tweeted: “@realDonaldTrump is once again embarrassing the Oval Office. Disgraceful, and that they had the audacity to knock President Biden.”
Conversely, Trump’s closed eyes also elicited some sympathy: “The man works night time and day… Give him a break!”
This follows an earlier incident where the US leader denied appearing to doze off during a January briefing, asserting that he was merely closing his eyes because it “obtained fairly boring”.
On that occasion, Trump addressed a room full of reporters, saying: “We’re not going to go through the entire desk because last time we had a press convention it lasted for three hours and some people said ‘he closed his eyes,’ it obtained fairly boring in all equity.”
