President Donald Trump announced an extention of the ceasefire with Iran at Pakistan’s request as he waits for “unified” proposal from Islamic Republic, blaming Iran’s “fractured” authorities.
“STATEMENT OF PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP: Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our Attack on the Country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal,” wrote the president.
Trump added, “I have therefore directed our Military to continue the Blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the Ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other. President DONALD J. TRUMP”
The president made the transfer even as the White House has put on maintain Vice President JD Vance’s anticipated journey to Islamabad for a second spherical of talks as Tehran, at least for time being, is balking at additional talks.

After Trump’s announcement, the Iranian mission to the U.N. despatched a letter Tuesday asking for the world physique and the Security Council to issue a “firm and unequivocal” condemnation of the U.S. resolution Sunday to assault and seize an Iranian-flagged cargo ship.
