Trump Drops $10 Billion Lawsuit on the BBC for | Political News
Donald Trump has railed against the pretend news for years, but he hasn’t just been speaking about it: he is been taking motion, and has compelled large settlements from CBS News for their misleading Kamala Harris interview, and ABC News along with its truth-challenged leftist anchor George Stephanopoulos for his feedback saying that Trump had been convicted of rape (not true, George).

Now, he’s coming after the British Broadcasting Network — to the tune of $10 billion. He’s claiming their documentary Panorama distorted his remarks regarding the occasions of Jan. 6:
Trump sued the BBC for both defamation and for a violation of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act for $5 billion apiece, as the president is looking for $10 billion complete. The swimsuit, filed in the Southern District of Florida Federal Court, was filed in a personal capability and names BBC and BBC studios productions as defendants.
“The formerly respected and now disgraced BBC defamed President Trump by intentionally, maliciously, and deceptively doctoring his speech in a brazen attempt to interfere in the 2024 Presidential Election. The BBC has a long pattern of deceiving its audience in coverage of President Trump, all in service of its own leftist political agenda. President Trump’s powerhouse lawsuit is holding the BBC accountable for its defamation and reckless election interference just as he has held other fake news mainstream media responsible for their wrongdoing,” a spokesperson for Trump’s legal staff told Fox News Digital.
Boom.

Earlier on Monday, the president had previewed the legal motion, saying the BBC put pretend phrases in his mouth:

Trump alleges in the 33-page lawsuit that the notoriously leftist outlet broadcast a “false, defamatory, deceptive, disparaging, inflammatory, and malicious depiction of President Trump,” alleging that misleading modifying was clearly “a brazen attempt to interfere in and influence” the ‘24 presidential election. Specifically, he called out their splicing together two separate parts of his speech on January 6, 2021, to make it look like he had called for violent action.
The BBC’s blatant manipulation of info is every part that we hate about the media:
The BBC had broadcast the hourlong documentary — titled “Trump: A Second Chance?” — days before the 2024 U.S. presidential election. It spliced together three quotes from two sections of the 2021 speech, delivered nearly an hour aside, into what appeared to be one quote in which Trump urged supporters to march with him and “fight like hell.” Among the elements cut out was a part where Trump said he wished supporters to show peacefully.
The publicly funded community (it will get its funds from a TV license price, an annual obligatory charge on UK households that watch or report live tv broadcasts) had already paid a price for its mendacity methods. They issued a limp apology to Trump — although they refused to admit they’d engaged in defamation — and a number of top executives resigned.
Fake news has disgusted conservatives for so long now because it seemingly nearly always works against us and hardly ever occurs against the Left, but Trump has found out a approach to mete out penalties: hit ‘em in the wallet.
Given the success of some of Trump’s earlier efforts, I’m guessing the BBC is quaking in their boots tonight.
