Trump advisers met at the Situation Room without him

According to the forthcoming book, slated for release on June 23, Trump’s top aides assembled in the Situation Room to handle the Epstein recordsdata controversy. Just days before, the Justice Department had issued a memo stating its investigation uncovered no “client list” of influential figures who exploited Epstein’s intercourse trafficking operation.

“The president’s desperate attempts to kill the story had failed. His team now had to get everyone onto the same page about how to counter the growing swarm of attention. They needed a gesture of transparency to appease an increasingly angry base, but also a way to convey the message that the president was sympathetic to his supporters’ concerns. Which itself was a problem, because he clearly wasn’t,” the book states.

Attending the assembly have been Vice President JD Vance, White House chief of employees Susie Wiles, White House counsel David Warrington, press secretary Karoline Leavitt, among others.

Vance appeared visibly anxious as he sat down at the desk’s head, with a number of senior aides getting the sense that he “bought into the darkest theories about Epstein and a cabal of predators hidden within the country’s ruling class.”

Wiles, though, brushed apart Vance’s worries, informing fellow members of the administration that the vice president is widely acknowledged as a conspiracy theorist.

Compounding the administration’s unease was President Trump’s public statements, in which he continuously criticized Republicans for their focus on the matter, despite having pledged during his 2024 presidential run to make public paperwork related to the probe.

Trump has said in the past that he severed ties with the intercourse offender and eliminated him from his Florida personal membership after Epstein double-crossed him on a number of events by recruiting people who had beforehand been in Trump’s make use of. The specifics of what these staff did or where they labored stay unknown.
