Donald Trump appeared visibly pissed off during a current sit-down with Fox News anchor Bret Baier, as the host repeatedly pressed him on hovering fuel costs.
Trump, 79, has confronted mounting criticism over the sharp spike in fuel prices since hostilities with Iran broke out on February 28, with costs surging significantly over current months. Despite this, a number of Fox News personalities have continued to back his insurance policies.
Following a tense exchange in which he insisted the U.S. has made a lot of money from Venezuelan oil, the president appeared in a contentious temper during his interview with Baier, 55.
The dialog occurred during Trump’s go to to Beijing, China, where he had convened a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, with Baier conducting the interview while Trump was still on overseas soil.
The section, which aired Friday, May 15 on Special Report, took an unexpectedly contentious flip, studies the Irish Star.

At one level, Baier pressed Trump on the persistently high fuel costs and the latest inflation figures launched earlier that week — data that had contributed to a recent dip in the president’s approval rankings among those vital of his financial stewardship.
“Before this trip. Gas prices in America are still high. Painfully high for…” Baier started, before Trump cut him off, declaring, “They’re going to drop like a rock as it’s over.”
As the exchange grew more and more heated with both talking concurrently, Baier acknowledged, “Painfully high though now, and–and could be creeping higher before…,” while Trump interjected, “Well, lower than Biden,” prompting Baier to conclude, “it’s done.
“Excuse me, decrease than Biden, and a lot decrease than people thought they’d be,” Trump responded sharply.

“This inflation quantity goes up,” Baier pressed. “You’re proper, it is a lot decrease than President Biden’s was. But it is going up under you, the numbers are.”
Baier then referenced the contentious remark Trump made prior to his departure for China, where he acknowledged he doesn’t “assume about Americans’ financial scenario” while negotiating a deal with Iran.
Trump, however, stood by his words, declaring, “That’s a excellent assertion. I’d make it again.”
When Baier requested clarification, Trump remained unapologetic.

“It’s very simple. When people hear me say it, everyone agrees, short-term pain. It’s going to be short-term pain,” he explained. “But the pain is way less than people thought. Because people thought that oil would go up to $250.
“You know, it was $99 yesterday, $99 a barrel. I thought it might go up to 200. I was OK with that, not that I wanted it, but you cannot let them have a nuclear weapon. They will use it on us.”
Trump’s insistence comes after the most current inflation data, which revealed multi-12 months peaks in April across all sectors, with Americans grappling with substantial rises in food, fuel, and power prices.
This development coincides with the national average fuel price reaching $4.51 per gallon, as reported by AAA. The determine represents an increase of practically 50 cents from the $4.09 price recorded one month earlier, and a surge of more than $1.30 per gallon in contrast to last 12 months’s $3.19.
Relief at the pump seems unlikely in the close to time period, as specialists have cautioned that inflation is anticipated to attain 6% in the first quarter and keep elevated ranges throughout the rest of the 12 months.
