Trump officials attack police chief for comparing | Political News

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara made a poignant speech on Tuesday relating to the “very, very difficult time” immigrants in his metropolis are experiencing.

Aggressive ICE Raids have been plaguing town, particularly its large Somali population. Most not too long ago, ICE Agents in South Minneapolis violently detained and dragged a pregnant lady across the road.

In the emotional press convention with Mayor Jacob Frey, O’Hara shared, “It’s especially personal to me, having been raised a Catholic, to be in a Christian church this morning as we are approaching Christmas.

“And I cannot help but think of what is happening in our city today and how that echoes with how outsiders have been treated for thousands of years. How Mary and Joseph themselves were considered outsiders and forced to stay in a barn,” he continued.

“That’s what we’re getting ready to commemorate as Christians around the world while all of this fear is happening in our town,” he added.

The remark had been widely criticized by right-wing conservatives online, including Trump’s most loyal cronies. “In major cities across the country, police chiefs use the phrase ‘our community’ to refer to illegals and foreign trespassers,” White House deputy chief of employees Stephen Miller commented.

“How abhorrent and humiliating this Minneapolis Police Chief refuses to do his job and has allowed these pedophiles and rapists to terrorize Minneapolis and hurt the very people he swore an oath to protect,” Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin wrote.

Recent research have discovered that 73.6% of ICE detainees have no prison data by any means. And according to the Cato Institute, the overwhelming majority of people with prison data are convicted of minor infractions, such as visitors violations.

In a remark to Fox News Digital, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson condemned O’Hara’s speech. “It’s unconscionable that anyone would compare criminal illegal aliens to the Son of God,” Jackson said. “Law enforcement officials should enforce the law, not allow dangerous criminal illegal aliens to terrorize American communities while making absurd comparisons.”

Social media customers defended O’Hara’s speech, with one person stating, “We need more of this.”

In a earlier assertion earlier this month, O’Hara apologized to the Somalians being terrorized in his group, particularly by President Trump himself, calling Somalia a “s—hole nation.

“I apologize that this happened to you in my city with people wearing vests that say ‘police.’ That’s embarrassing,” O’Hara said.
