President Donald Trump was praised by a number of high-ranking Democrats after he and his group of advisors managed to secure a deal that led to the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
The president acquired glowing reward from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, as effectively as from two of his presidential adversaries: Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, and former President Bill Clinton. Each of the three issued their own statements when the news broke.
“I am deeply grateful and relieved that this day has come – for the last living 20 hostages who have been through unimaginable hell and are finally reunited with their families and loved ones,” wrote former President Joe Biden. “And for the civilians in Gaza who have experienced immeasurable loss and will finally get the chance to rebuild their lives.”
“The road to this deal was not easy. My Administration worked relentlessly to bring hostages home, get relief to Palestinian civilians and end the war,” said Biden. “I commend President Trump and his team for their work to get a renewed ceasefire deal over the finish line.”
“Now, with the backing of the United States and the world, the Middle East is on a path to peace that I hope endures and a future for Israelis and Palestinians alike with equal measures of peace, dignity and safety,” Biden concluded. Harris echoed the former president’s statement.
“I’m grateful and deeply inspired that this ceasefire has introduced long-awaited moments of pleasure and reunion, as 20 Israeli hostages are finally reunited with their family members and Palestinian households and the people of Gaza start to obtain desperately needed reduction from unimaginable struggling,” she wrote. “Through diplomacy and persistence, today is an important first step toward a more hopeful future.”
Harris stated that she commended “the leaders and companions whose efforts made this settlement doable, including the president and his group.” The former vice president, however, warned that there was still work to be done.

“There is still a lot more work to do to secure a lasting peace, guarantee the protection and dignity of every harmless life,” added Harris. “And construct a future where Israelis and Palestinians can live facet by facet in freedom and security.”
Former President Bill Clinton also praised Trump and his work. “The horrors of the October 7, 2023 assault on Israel, and the battle they reignited, have resulted in insufferable human loss,” she wrote on X.
“It has been onerous to watch and practically not possible to rationalize,” Clinton added. “President Trump and his administration, Qatar, and other regional actors deserve great credit for keeping everyone engaged until the agreement was reached.”
In his assertion, Schumer lauded Trump and called the settlement “an immense and overwhelming sigh of relief.” Speaking to NewsNation, the senate democrat said, “Today is a wonderful day. Finally, finally, finally, the last living hostages brutally held by Hamas are home, an immense and overwhelming sigh of relief.”
“I commend the enormous advocacy of the tireless hostage families, President Trump, his administration, and all who helped make this moment happen. He added. Other Democrats praised the return of the hostages without mentioning Trump.
“Thankful that all 20 residing Israeli hostages are home with their family members. And that humanitarian help is being surged into Gaza for Palestinian civilians,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said. “We must now recommit to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region. Nothing less than that is acceptable.”
