President Donald Trump revealed Thursday that Iran gifted the United States eight to 10 oil tankers after hinting about a “mystery present” two days in the past.
Trump claimed, in an effort to lengthen an olive department, that Iran gave the U.S. eight boats of Pakistan-flagged oil two days in the past. The president expressed shock that Tehran adopted through with its promise.
It comes after the president said earlier in the week that Washington is speaking with Tehran through Islamabad, delivering a 15-point peace proposal, which may carry an end to the struggle that started on Feb. 28. Iranian officers have denied that any talks have occurred.
“They said to show you the fact that we’re real and solid and we’re there, we’re gonna let you have eight boats of oil. Eight big boats of oil,” Trump declared Thursday during the Cabinet assembly.
Two days in the past, the president hinted that Iran gave him an costly reward associated to oil and gasoline.
TRUMP: I told you about a present. Steve, can I reveal the present?
WITKOFF: You can do something you need, sir

“They gave us a present and the present arrived today,” Trump said Tuesday. “It was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money. I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize, and they gave it to us.”
Minutes after Trump made the remarks, The Financial Times reported that Iranian officers issued a letter to the International Maritime Organization, declaring “non-hostile” vessels can be allowed to move through the Strait of Hormuz.
The letter made clear that actions in the key waterway are a defensive maneuver against aggressors, stating that only ships linked to the U.S., Israel and “other contributors in the aggression” would be blocked.
Analysts estimate that about 3,200 vessels have been stranded in the Gulf since Iran essentially shut down the strait on Feb. 28 when the U.S. and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury.
Meanwhile, certain operators have allegedly paid up to $2 million per tanker to Iranian intermediaries to get their ships to pass through, according to Lloyd’s List Intelligence.
At least 22 ships have also been struck by Iranian forces since the war began, The Financial Times reports.
During the Cabinet meeting, Trump also branded the Iran regime as “sick” and “sinister” for failing to reach a deal to end the war. He also accused Iran of wanting to “take over” the Middle East, echoing Israeli talking points.
Before the hour-plus-long meeting, he issued a another statement on Truth Social about Iran.
“The Iranian negotiators are very different and ‘unusual.’ They are ‘begging’ us to make a deal, which they need to be doing since they’ve been militarily obliterated, with zero probability of a comeback, and yet they publicly state that they’re only ‘trying at our proposal.’ WRONG!!!”, Trump wrote Thursday morning on Truth Social.
He chillingly warned, “They better get severe soon, before it is too late, because once that occurs, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it received’t be fairly!”.
