Donald Trump claimed he was unaware that his spouse was planning to make the bombshell Epstein announcement this afternoon, according to MS Now.

The first girl surprised the nation by delivering an apparently spontaneous assertion relating to her connection — or absence thereof — with convicted intercourse offender Jeffrey Epstein. She dismissed allegations of any relationship with Epstein as “lies,” asserting that those who have unfold the story are “devoid of ethical standards, humility, and respect.”

Shortly after the assertion was launched, MS Now reporter Jax Alemany posted on X, “Just got off a quick call with President Trump, who said he didn’t ‘know anything about ‘FLOTUS’ statement prior to her on-camera appearance, but that he was in a meeting about the war and couldn’t speak further.

“‘She did not know him,’ he added before hanging up, referring to Epstein,” Alemany further noted in the post. Whether Trump genuinely had no prior knowledge of his wife’s statement, made under intense national and global scrutiny, remains uncertain.

GWN reported this afternoon that Trump did know about the address before it was made public, according to the Mirror US. In her statement, Melania maintained, “I’ve never been buddies with Epstein,” and noted, “Donald and I have been invited to the same events as Epstein from time to time, since overlapping in social circles is common in New York City and Palm Beach.”

Melania also made it explicitly clear that she had no personal relationship with Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, addressing persistent questions about an email she sent to the 64-year-old, who is currently serving her sentence at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Bryan, Texas. “My e-mail reply to Maxwell can’t be categorized as something more than informal correspondence,” Melania emphasized.

“My well mannered reply to her e-mail does not quantity to something more than a trivial word,” she added. Donald and Melania Trump have consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with the Epstein case, have not been accused of any crimes by law enforcement, and have never been identified as the subject of any investigation.

Before her address, Melania’s business adviser spoke with the New York Post, suggesting the First Lady is seeking to reshape her public image, positioning herself as a champion for reform. During her speech, she reflected on potential Congressional action concerning Epstein and his co-conspirators, while acknowledging their victims.

“I call on Congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing specifically centered around the survivors,” she added. “Give these victims the opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress with the power of sworn testimony. Each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public if she wishes, and then her testimony should be permanently entered into the congressional record. Then, and only then, we will have the truth.”
