President Donald Trump insists Iran is “dying to settle” the peace deal as the nation prepares for the six-day funeral of former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Trump, 80, started the Independence Day weekend on Friday with a journey to Mount Rushmore to ship remarks.

During his speech, which was delayed by hail and thunder, he spoke about the current battle in the Middle East. The president famous, “We knocked the hell out of Iran. They are dying to settle. Iran wants to settle so badly. We gave them a week off for a funeral because we’re nice.”

Iranian authorities said 12 to 20 million people have been anticipated to attend the ceremonies, that are half of what they’re calling the “funeral of the century.” The BBC stories that that Khamenei’s coffin, which was bearing the colors of the Islamic Republic, was carried aloft at the Grand Mosalla on Friday.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian was in attendance, paying his respects after the coffin was settled at the Mosalla. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, and the Afghan Taliban’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi have been also in attendance.

This is not the first time that Trump has spoken at Mt. Rushmore. In the past, Trump joked about including his own face to the monument, calling it a “good idea.” He even raised the chance of including his visage with South Dakota’s governor during his first time period, telling then-Governor Kristi Noem in an Oval Office assembly: “Do you know it’s my dream to have my face on Mount Rushmore?”

“I started laughing,” Noem recalled in a 2018 interview with the Argus Leader. “He wasn’t laughing, so he was totally serious… I said, ‘Come pick out a mountain.’”

While Trump has spent a lot of his second time period imposing his fashion on structure in the nation’s capital, his antics may stop in South Dakota. He would have to truly pick another mountain as it isn’t structurally doable to add another face to the monument.

Gutzon Borglum, the sculptor behind Mount Rushmore, wrote in 1936 that the stone had “serious” limitations. “I doubt if it would be possible to change the composition, which is fixed, in any way to include a fifth head,” he said.
