Trump shares final message from fallen soldiers | Political News
U.S. President Donald Trump revealed the inspiring message told him in Dover as the conflict in Iran rages on.
“On Saturday, I traveled to Dover Air Force Base to be with the families of six fallen warriors… hardest thing to do… They all said one thing to me: ‘Make sure you win, sir,'” the president said while talking Monday at the annual Republican Members’ Issues Conference at his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.
“We will. We’ve already won in many ways. But we haven’t won enough. We go forward more determined than ever to achieve ultimate victory that will end this long running danger once in for all. Fourty seven years, it should been done a long time ago. World would have been a different place had some president had the courage to do it.”

The president gave remarks during the annual three-day convention designed for House Republicans to craft their legislative agenda and messaging for the 12 months forward of the high-stakes midterm elections in November. Trump reportedly held a roundtable dialogue with GOP lawmakers before delivering his handle, which marks the first time he spoke to the group since resuming workplace last 12 months.
The assembly comes at a pivotal second for Republicans after coming off of a explicit disruptive week.
It comes just days after Congress had a heated debate over whether or not to restrict Trump’s conflict powers after ordering joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran during Operation Epic Fury, triggering regional battle during which at least seven U.S. troops have been killed.
It also comes after Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) admitted to having an affair with a staffer who died via self-immolation last 12 months while asserting that he won’t search reelection after going through fierce criticism for the scandal.
““I made a mistake, and I had a lapse in judgment. And there was a lack of faith, and I take full responsibility for those actions,” the Texas Republican said on a podcast last Wednesday. He also confirmed he and his spouse have “reconciled.”
