U.S. President Donald Trump publicly criticized White House landscapers for their alleged mishandling of the marble he had put in in the Rose Garden earlier in the summer time.

The president undertook contentious renovations to the enduring Rose Garden over the summer time, which included paving over the grass to create a patio reminiscent of his Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, Florida. He also included a new sound system into the location close to the Oval Office, a location continuously used for receptions and media occasions.

The construction was finalized earlier in the month, culminating in a press tour of the modifications on Aug. 19, 2025, which ignited intense backlash, akin to other controversial renovations President Trump has made to the White House.

The White House Rose Garden, created during the Woodrow Wilson presidency in 1913 and later renovated under the John F. Kennedy presidency in 1961, has historically been used by the White House for receptions and media occasions.

Over the weekend, the president posted what appears to be security footage from the Rose Garden exhibiting landscapers tending to the bushes. The video footage doesn’t have a time stamp.

President Trump expressed fury at the landscapers for their handling of the location, hurling insults at the employees.

“I used, at the White House, the most beautiful marble and stone available anywhere. Surfaces are very important to me as a Builder. As everyone knows, I built many GREAT Buildings, and other things, over the years,” Trump started his tirade.

“At the White House, I am very proud of the beautiful stonework we did in the Rose Garden, in this case, using limestone plus. The Rose Garden is completed, and far more beautiful than anyone ever had in mind when it was conceived of, decades ago.

“Three days in the past, while admiring the stonework, I occurred to discover a big gash in the limestone that prolonged more than 25 yards long. It was deep and nasty! I began yelling, ‘Who did this, and I need to discover out now!’ — And I did not say this in a good method. I questioned, ‘Was it vandalism or, was it stupidity?’

“Lo and behold, because of the fact that we’ve installed the finest security equipment anywhere, they brought back the stupid people, with their boss watching (in sunglasses!).

“It was a subcontractor that was putting in heavy landscaping on a metal cart that was damaged and tilting badly, with it rubbing arduous against the gentle, stunning stone,” Trump alleged.

The president continued by stating he values their work but made it clear that they would not be brought back by his team.

“I like and respect great employees and contractors, but one thing like this ought to never occur,” Trump declared.

“Now, I’ll substitute the stone, charge the contractor, and never let that contractor work at the White House again — But, how great is the video gear? We caught them, cold. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
