President Donald Trump said he might be the last Republican president if Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed wins the midterm elections.
On Thursday, Trump told his followers on Truth Social, “For our Great Republican Senators, friends of mine, all,’ please be advised that the Communist Dumocrat Senate Candidate from Michigan, Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, is touting, as perhaps his single most important point, the Termination of the Filibuster.”
He added, “If he succeeds, the Dumocrats will gain 4 Senators, 8 Congressmen, many Electoral and Popular Votes, a stacked Supreme Court with 23 Justices, and I will be, sadly, despite the great job we are doing, the last Republican President!”
Trump’s scathing post marks the president’s latest attempt to persuade Senate Republicans to nix the filibuster in an effort to cross the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act.
According to Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), Republicans in the Senate shouldn’t have enough votes to cross the laws. Thune has also ruled out abolishing the filibuster.
To Trump’s dismay, Abdul El-Sayed, a former public health official who capitalized on Democratic dissatisfaction with the celebration’s institution, narrowly defeated Rep. Haley Stevens in Michigan’s U.S. Senate major.
“Abdul’s victory was, in my opinion, the most extraordinary victory that I can think of in modern American politics,” said Sen. Bernie Sanders, a main determine of the progressive motion and an early backer of El-Sayed’s marketing campaign.
Sen. Chris Van Hollen, another progressive chief who endorsed El-Sayed, said the victory “should be a wake-up call to the Washington Democratic establishment.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. chief has directed a number of assaults at El-Sayed and claims his major win is a “victory” for Republicans.
At a campaign-style event in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Trump seethed, “The polls were wrong again last night when they said it would be a landslide victory for a hater of Jews and a hater of Israel,” later including that El-Sayed is “full of s‑‑‑.”
El-Sayed will sq. off against Republican Mike Rogers, a former congressman, in November in a contest that might help decide control of the Senate. His quick problem will be uniting Democratic factions following a contentious major that introduced contrasting visions for a celebration hungry for a route back to energy.
The margin was razor-thin. El-Sayed left the stage at his Tuesday night time election celebration without claiming victory, and the race wasn’t called until early Wednesday, after practically all ballots statewide had been tallied.
