Trumps Hilarious Remark About a Bulletproof Vest

During a press briefing in the Oval Office on Thursday, the media requested about the White House Correspondents’ Dinner capturing on Saturday. They requested President Donald Trump if he was “nervous” about it occurring again, another assassination attempt. There have already been a number of efforts.

Trump said, “I don’t think about it… If I did, I wouldn’t be effective.”

That’s a fairly astonishing reply, but at this level, after Saturday, he appears to have adopted a very zen method to it. He was remarkably calm about it on Saturday, even giving a briefing proper after it occurred. He appeared more involved about checking on and reassuring everybody else then.

He was requested by a reporter if there have been talks about him carrying a bulletproof vest, given that he is been shot at.  Then he said one thing actually hilarious, and had the normally hostile media just dropping it laughing. 

The reporter could not help but snicker 🤣

“I don’t know if I can handle looking 20 pounds heavier,” Trump said self-deprecatingly, to gales of laughter. He said some of the oldsters behind him have been “physical specimens,” and he joked that he’d inform them to get away. It’s not a humorous matter, but he just makes it so with his frankness about his own measurement and his comedian timing. 

How can the media not be disarmed by that? He’s one of a type.

We’re never going to have a contest on the subject, but President Donald Trump might just be the funniest individual to ever occupy the White House. It’s one of the explanations he resonates with people; he is just naturally relatable and open. And that may be why Democrats do not get it, because they largely have no sense of humor.

But then he did word the benefits of a vest – notably that it saved the life of the Secret Service agent who was hit on Saturday. Trump said while the agent was going to be okay, it was still “like being hit by Mike Tyson.” 

“I guess it’s something you consider. In one way, you don’t like to do it because you’re giving in to a bad element. I don’t know. But I have been asked about it.” 

That’s very Trump, that’s the “fight, fight, fight” in him, as he said when he stood up in Butler after the first assassination attempt, he would not need to concede something to the crazies. But the security wants to do all they will to cut off these prospects in the future.
