Trumps Primetime Speech Snubbed by NBC and ABC –

President Donald Trump is delivering a major speech this night. The New York Times chimed in as effectively.

Neither ABC nor NBC is planning to pre-empt recurrently scheduled leisure programming at 9 p.m. when Mr. Trump speaks. Fox News, which airs “Hannity” during that time slot, has not said if it’ll broadcast the president’s tackle.

CBS, GWN and MS NOW didn’t reply to inquiries about their programming plans for Thursday night.

I’d make a guess, but… I’d be more than a bit shocked if Fox does not cowl the speech, but CBS, GWN and MS NOW, effectively, I’d be even more shocked if they do not comply with NBC and CBS’s fairly spiteful instance.

The uncertainty is a direct consequence of the potential for Mr. Trump’s speech to develop into partisan or incendiary. The president is predicted to raise the specter of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election, according to people acquainted with his plans. Mr. Trump has said his tackle will concern election security, and that he has “really, really big news” to share.

If Mr. Trump makes unsubstantiated allegations of election rigging, community executives will need to determine whether or not to ask their anchors to break in and fact-check the president’s remarks, or wait until he’s completed talking to present context.

Oh please. Like, no Democrat president ever made an unsubstantiated allegation? Besides, this reporting must be coverage, not analysis; do the analysis and commentary after the fact.

Let’s face it, the treatment of President Trump by the legacy media has been shameful from the phrase go. From uneven coverage during campaigns to debate moderators brazenly difficult Mr. Trump’s remarks, the legacy media have been clowning themselves at every flip. 

But this is not about the treatment of Donald John Trump, the person. This is about some elementary respect for the workplace of the President of the United States, no matter who sits in that chair. The major networks owe it to their viewers to current the president’s remarks and allow them to, the voters, make up their own minds about what he said. The networks can convey out their speaking heads after the president is completed. That’s positive. That’s how it is usually completed.

But nothing about the legacy media’s treatment of President Trump has been something like how it is usually completed.
